2. What is "Travel Insurance" or "Trip Interruption Insurance"? Travel Insurance is a purchased insurance policy on your Topsail Island vacation against various happenings that may interrupt or delay your time on Topsail Island. For example, a mandantory hurricane evacuation would allow you to make a claim for the unused portion of your vacation if the island was evacauted. However, please remember if you do not purchase travel insurance, you are not due a refund in the event of a mandantory evaucation. Other examples would include accidents in route, new health issues, etc. You are not required to purchase travel insurance however it is highly recommended to protect the financial investment in your vacation for a very nominal fee. 3. What is the "Security Deposit Waiver"? Again, a type of insurance. This policy is in lieu of the traditional dollar amount you may be accustomed to placing on deposit with our company to protect the property against damages as a result of your stay. Again, this policy is highly recommended to ensure against complications after your stay at Topsail Island. 4. What are our check-in and check-out times? Standard Check-In Time is 3 pm on the Saturday arrival. Standard Check-Out Time is 11 am on the Saturday departue. The check-in and check-out times are necessary to ensure the property is ready for the next vacationeers. However, subject to availability, you may ask your Reservationist for an early check-in or early check-out. Each occurence will cost $50 plus tax. This fee pays for the necessary actions needed to ensure the property is ready for the next vacationeers.

5.What happens if I am unable to arrive before your office closes for the day? Please let us know before your arrival day and we will make the necessary arrangements to allow you access to your vacation. If your vacation is not paid in full, it will need to be.

6. Can I bring our pets, They need a vacation also!? Yes, you can bring your pets on vacation as long as the rental property allows pets and you have paid any pet fees due (varies from property).

7. What is the normal payment schedule? If you book your Topsail vacation more than 30 days prior to your arrival you must pay 50% by the fourteenth day after the reservation is made or the reservation is automatically cancelled with no notice. The final 50% payment is due before 30 days of your arrival. If you book your property within the 30 days to arrival window, 100% must be paid at time of booking.

8. What is a "token fee"? A token fee allows you to place a hold on a week or more for the NEXT rental season on a property. It however does not guarantee the price. In the event the property is no longer available for rent, you will be re-imbursed the token fee.

9. Do I need to bring anything with me for the property that I am renting? Just as any vacation you will need to bring your personal items like shampoo, tooth paste, etc. You will also need to ask the reservationist of the size beds in the property as only the comforter and pillows are provided. In other words, please bring towels, pillow cases, sheets along with you. We can provide you with a rental service at an extra charge if you would like also. 10. When do I get my security deposit refunded? If you enrolled in our Security Deposit Waiver Program, there is no security deposit to refund to you. However, if you place a security deposit with our company, you will recieve it at the latest 45 days AFTER your departure in accordance with the Vacation Rental Act of North Carolina. This is, of course, if there were no damages. In the unlikely even there were damages you will recieve an itemized account of what the deposit was used for along with any remaining balance owed to you.

11. I need access to the internet! We certaintly encourage you to not worry with emails and the internet while on vacation at Topsail Island, however we do understand how difficult it is to get away from work! Some properties may provide internet access, however this is RARE. If it does not provide access, you will need a local dialup (56k) number (Wilmington, NC Area Code 910). We can also put you in touch with Topsail Vacation Internet Access (910) 338-0942 who can provide you with high speed access at your rental property for a nominal fee.

12. Topsail Island is a fun place, why do you have all these policies and procedures? We represent the owners of the properties you are vacationing in, therefore we have a strict fidicary duty to the owners to operate in their best interest. On the other hand, we are bound by NC State Law to abide by the Vacation Rental Act ensuring fair, law abiding treatment of you, the vacationeer. Therefore, we must follow allow of our procedures and are not a liberty to make exceptions.

13. I can't believe you charge 9.5% to 13% tax! We can't believe it either! Its the law however and we have no choice other than to charge the taxes. The good news is that portions of the tax collected by our state, county and local towns go to beach renourishment which is a benefit to every single person in this county! Please do not ask us to waive these taxes, we are unable to do so.

14. What type of activities are available on Topsail Island? Topsail Island is one of the nation's few unspoiled beaches offer miles of sandy shores with only footprints, shells and great family homes. Activities are very broad; charter boats, kayak rentals/tours, putt putt golf, golf, sunbathing, fishing, shopping, vast local history, sea turtle hospital, scuba diving, kite surfing, surfing, sailing to name only a few.
